After writing history by breaking several records during its first week Dabangg 2 is now on its to becoming one of the highest grossing films in the history of Bollywood Cinema. The 2nd weekend collections were approximately Rs. 21 Crores (Fri - 5 cr, Sat - 6.75 cr, Sun - 9.25 cr) and the total 2nd week nett collections amounted to approximately Rs. 37.22 Crores. The first two weeks nett box office collections amount to Rs. 144 Crores.
The third weekend accounted for approximately Rs. 8 crores and the total for week 3 added another 11 crores and brought the grand total to Rs. 155 crores. It looks like the theatrical run for Dabangg 2 will probably end at approximately Rs. 160-165 crores making it the second highest grossing film of the year and the third highest overall. The highest grossing film of 2012, also a Salman Khan starrer, is Ek Tha Tiger and the highest grossing film in history is still the 2008 blockbuster 3 Idiots.
