It seems you have not really watched most of the films and performances you have listed/judged. Some of your picks are totally ridiculous. Please start watching movies before commenting on them!

If actress like Prachi Desai are so
good at what they do, why then are producers/directors so blinded to the talents of these individuals.
It does get boring seeing the same
few names over and over in the movies.

I don't comment on films I have not seen. Unfortunately, I have watched all the films in the post including the disappointing Hisss, Raavan, Kites and Action Replayy. How I wish I didn't watch these films, but I did. Perhaps you look at box office results or who stars in a film, I don't, I look at the content of the film.

Everyone has different tastes, for example, I didn't like Housefull and I know others who feel the same, but I also know several people who liked it. Most people rejected Toh Baat Pakki, but I enjoyed it. These posts have my opinion, your opinion may be different and you're entitled to your opinion.

We don't have to agree, but it doesn't mean what I have said is wrong. If you specify what you find ridiculous, perhaps I can explain why I made those picks. It would be very easy for anyone to pick Dabangg and Rajneeti for everything good and Raavan, Kites and Action Replayy for everything bad, but I have tried to be fair and tried to do justice to all the films and actors not just the popular stars, films and director, but everyone (including newcomers and lesser known artists), based on the content presented in the films.

Producers and Directors are not blind to the talents of any individuals. Sadly, the film industry today has become a marketing machine, who ever is popular or can market themselves in the media becomes hot property. If you notice right before their films are about to release, all the film stars start tweeting wildly on a daily basis, yet when nothing is up for release they can go days without a single tweet.

The big problem is Distributors don't buy films with newcomers and so the producers are reluctant to work with them. A couple of years ago, I had approached a top distributor for a film, I went fully prepared with a proposal, budgets, script, promotional strategies, projection of profits, etc. But When I spoke with the Vice President he said none of that matter, he wasn't interested in what the story is he only wanted to know who will star in the film and who the music director and director is and he would sign a contract with me right then. When the top distributor in the country doesn't care about a film's story you know where the industry is headed.

When Corporate Houses came into the industry they had the power to change this and bring in new talented people. But sadly, even they want to work only with the likes of Ashutosh Gowariker, Vipul Shah, Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, so nothing has changed.

In short, Producers and directors can't give breaks to Prachi Desai and other talented individuals because the distributors won't buy their films and they won't get a release.

The mindset of the distributors and corporate houses is that they will gladly give you 40, 50 or 100 crores if you have a superstar in your film, even if the film only rakes in 20 crores at the box office. They're willing to loose 80 crores at the box office, yet they won't give 4 crores to a new talented director whose film may generate 10 crores at the box office and be profitable for them.

Hey, I am checking this blog using the phone and this appears to be kind of odd. Thought you'd wish to know. This is a great write-up nevertheless, did not mess that up.
